About us and Our pedagogic

Freinetskolan Tallbacken is a small private school without any particular religious, political or ideological orientation, but with a clear pedagogical profile. Where all children, regardless of gender, social or economic conditions, must have equal access to a full-fledged education.

We have about 200 students at the school from pre-school to year 6. Every class has two teachers. The students receive partial education in their respective classes and partial cross-age education in, for example, creative workshops and other common theme days.

At our school, we work based on Célestin Freinet´s pedagogy. It can be briefly summarized in the following points:

Our goals

The schools goals is to:

• Assume that students can and want to take personal responsibility for their learning and for their work at school.

• Work to ensure that both girls and boys get an equal amount of space and influence over teaching.  

• To anchor knowledge and learning in the students contemporaries, the world around them and local society through their hands and brains.

• Prepare students for the rights and obligations that exist in a democratic society.
